MICHAEL V. LEEMAN

Michael V. Leeman is a Southwest Florida native and a member of the Florida Bar for more than fifteen years.  He attended the University of Florida for undergraduate studies and law school, graduating from the latter magna cum laude and ranked number 3 out of 349 students in his class.  During law school, he served as Articles Editor for the Florida Law Review and as a research assistant to Professor Elizabeth T. Lear.

For outstanding achievement on the 2010 Florida Bar examination, he was selected by the Florida Board of Bar Examiners to grade essay portions of the exam for future applicants.

After law school, Mr. Leeman worked for a large law firm in Tampa before he was appointed by the Attorney General to serve at the United States Department of Justice as a federal prosecutor.  For more than a decade, he prosecuted some of the most complex and highest profile cases within the Middle District of Florida (Tampa and Fort Myers Divisions), including multiple capital murder cases, drug conspiracies involving wiretaps, white collar frauds, and tax matters.  He now routinely appears in Federal and State Court as a defense attorney and prides himself on providing his clients with honest advice and an aggressive defense.
